Mogadishu (UM) – Benjamin James Fender has been appointed UK’s new Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia. He will succeed Mr David Concar who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment according to the statement released by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Mr Fender will take up his appointment in February 2019 the statement said.
According to his CV, Mr. Fender is an experienced career diplomat working at the UK’s Foreign Ministry.
His appointment comes at a time Somalia has no official representative to the UK which is a key parner to the Federal Government of Somalia during a difficult BREXIT process.
