Mogadishu (UM) – In another dramatic turn of events in the ongoing saga of the No Confidence Motion against the Speaker of Parliament, the Deputy speaker suspended the Parliamentary Secretary General Abdikarin Hajji Buh and replaced him with his deputy. In a letter issued by the Deputy Speaker today the suspended Secretary was accused of being involved in politics and also trying to usurp power that the law does not sanction. He specifically addressed Article 11 of the Parliamentary procedures which the suspended Secretary is in violation of according to the letter issued by the Deputy Speaker.
The Speaker of Parliament Jawaari issued an official letter in response to and support of Mr. Buh arguing that the the Deputy Speaker has no right to suspend the Secretary. This development is another blow to the on-going mediation efforts that are meant to resolve the current political crisis that has engulfed the Somali Parliament.
