Somali Finance Minister Abdirahman D. Beileh addressed the Middle East and North Africa Governors meeting chaired by the Managing Director of the IMF Lagarde.
In his address he thanked MD Lagarde Algarve and other Governors for their solidarity and support against yesterday’s terrorist attack.
He requested all MENA member States do all they can to support Somalia, including, with immediate health provision for victims.
Dr. Beileh encouraged the IMF to continue supporting Somalia as the country works towards arrears clearance. He also pleaded that the IMF work with Somalia in an innovative manner given the great challenges the country currently faces.
Minister Beilehs statement was warmly welcomed by MENA members.
