Mogadishu (UM) – Today the Cabinet of the Federal Government of Somalia, chaired by PM Hassan Ali Khaire, approved the budget for 2018. The budget which is 274 million USD was presented by Dr. Abdirahman D. Beileh and his team from the Ministry of Finance.
The budget which is made up of both domestic revenue and international community supported grants gave priority to security and other public services including education and job creation.
The budget predictions are an improvement on the years previous but will need the Ministry of Finance to collect revenues from all sectors including hospitality and telecommunications.
The budget will now be forwarded to Parliament for review before a final vote to endorse it.
