Minister of Finance participates in 3rd Arab Fiscal Forum

Mogadishu (UM) – The Minister of Finance Dr. Adirahman Beileh participated in the third Annual Arab Fiscal Forum in Dubai, UAE.

The meeting which was co-organised by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Arab Monetary Fund brought together Ministers and senior policy makers from the Arab World to discuss reforming Public Finances. The meeting was also addressed by the Managing Director of the IMF Christine Lagarde and Abdulrahman Al Hamidy the Director General of the Arab Monetary Fund.

Key among the discussions were Macroeconomic developments and impacts on the Arab countries, efficiency of spending, subsidies and digital revolution in public finances.

Minister Beileh made clear Somalia’s progress in Public Financial Management and stated that the IMF Staff Monitored Program led reforms were going well. He also reiterated the Somali Governments commitment to working towards economic development through fiscal reforms and action including generating more domestic revenue, strengthening public institutions and tackling corruption.
